Motorists and shoppers in and around Birmingham on Friday (1 July) could have been forgiven for doing a double take when they saw who was coming down the street.
However, their eyes were not deceiving them – it really was Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Supergirl, Spidergirl and the Joker. For one day only, the caped crusaders and the Joker put their differences aside and joined forces for a very special mission – to raise as much money as possible for an extremely worthy cause.
Underneath the masks and capes, of course, were the intrepid team from JE Consulting, who were taking part in the UK200Group’s “Not the Olympics 2012” charity campaign in aid of Alzheimer’s Society. Participating member firms have been tasked with relaying an Olympic-style torch across the country, finishing at the Olympic Stadium in London in time for the Group’s annual conference in November.

Having received the torch from Dains Chartered Accountants, the JE Consulting team donned their superhero outfits and took to the streets, walking 10 miles from Sutton Coldfield to Edgbaston, where they handed over the torch to the next participating firm, JW Hinks.
The team enjoyed excellent weather for their walk and, perhaps unsurprisingly, attracted quite a bit of attention from passing motorists and pedestrians!
