Cost of defending patents capped
A cap has been introduced for the cost of defending patents, trademarks or copyrighted material against infringement in the county courts.

Prenuptial agreements have moved a significant step closer to being accepted in English and Welsh courts following a ruling in the Supreme Court which states that “decisive weight” should be given to such contracts.
Mediation to become compulsory for warring parents
From early 2011, divorcing couples who use the courts to settle disputes over money or children will be forced to try mediation first in an attempt to settle their differences.
